Default Does NIntendo really fix your DS Lite's broken hinge?

I was wondering if Nintendo actually fixes your DS Lite's broken hinge. My friend says that it is a waste of money because because there will be other complications and that they will use refurbished pieces and that the plastic is molded so they won't be able to fix it. He also said you have to send to a real factory. Here are some pictures of my broken hinge and I know that I am bad at taking pictures like this.http://s449.photobucket.com/albums/qq212/Jeremie4000/
